About Us

At Meadowbrook Farm, we’re proud to be a multi-generational, family-owned and operated farm nestled in the heart of Sartell, Minnesota. Owned by the Udermann Family, our farm represents a commitment to honest farming, high-quality beef, and strong community roots.

Our Story
Meadowbrook Farm began as a dream rooted in hard work, family values, and a love for the land. Over the years, it has grown into a trusted local source for farm-raised beef, known for quality, transparency, and integrity. What started with a few cattle has grown into a thriving operation that supplies families across the region with beef they can feel good about.

We believe in raising animals with respect and care, using sustainable practices that ensure the health of our cattle and the land we’re blessed to farm. Every member of our family plays a role—whether it’s feeding, checking the herd, or helping customers select the right beef package for their needs.

Our Philosophy
At Meadowbrook Farm, we do things differently than big-box suppliers or industrial operations. We raise our cattle without added hormones or unnecessary antibiotics, allowing them to grow naturally in a low-stress, humane environment. We believe this not only produces better beef—but a better way of farming.

Our goal is simple: to give families access to high-quality, local beef they can trust. When you buy from Meadowbrook, you’re not just getting meat—you’re getting peace of mind, a connection to your food, and a relationship with the farmers who raise it.

What We Offer
We sell our beef directly to customers in bulk packages (quarter, half, or whole), processed at a professional local butcher and frozen to preserve freshness. This allows you to stock your freezer with a variety of cuts—from juicy steaks to roasts and ground beef—all at a great value.

We’re always happy to walk first-time buyers through the process and answer any questions you have about what to expect. It’s just part of our commitment to personal service and transparency.

Meadowbrook Farm: Regenerating Soil, Stewarding Land, Serving Community

Nestled in the heart of central Minnesota, Meadowbrook Farm is more than just a fifth-generation family operation—it’s a living model of what agriculture can become when guided by conservation, integrity, and a commitment to the land. Located near Sartell, the Udermann family has transformed Meadowbrook Farm into a recognized leader in regenerative agriculture, conservation innovation, and community-focused farming.

A Family Legacy Grounded in Stewardship

Farming has been in the Udermann family for over 100 years, and today, Meadowbrook Farm continues to thrive through the passion and dedication of its current generation. What began as a traditional family farm has evolved into a cutting-edge regenerative system focused on building healthier soil, raising nutrient-dense food, and restoring natural ecosystems. For the Udermanns, farming isn’t just a business—it’s a calling to care for the land with respect, humility, and vision for the future.

Award-Winning Conservation and Commitment

Meadowbrook Farm’s leadership in environmental stewardship has been recognized at the highest levels. In 2024, the farm was named Minnesota’s Outstanding Conservationist of the Year and also received the Stearns County Outstanding Conservationist Award. The farm was also a finalist for the Leopold Conservation Award, one of the most prestigious honors in American agriculture. These awards reflect not only the farm’s conservation practices, but also its role in advancing a more sustainable and regenerative model of farming that benefits both the land and community.

Regenerative Agriculture in Action

At Meadowbrook Farm, conservation isn’t a buzzword—it’s a practice. The farm has been fully no-till since 2016, a method that protects soil structure, prevents erosion, and builds organic matter. Each acre is managed with precision and intention, incorporating cover crops for biodiversity, crop rotations to break pest cycles and replenish nutrients, and a comprehensive nutrient management plan that eliminates dependence on commercial phosphorus and potassium. Instead, the farm relies on biology, compost, and carefully managed manure to feed the soil and improve long-term fertility.

This regenerative approach is measurable. Fields under Meadowbrook’s care show massive improvements in soil biology, water infiltration, and carbon retention. Earthworms, soil fungi, and microbial life are thriving. The result? Healthier crops, more resilient soils, and a farm ecosystem that works in harmony with nature rather than against it.

Custom Services: Extending Our Values to Your Fields

Meadowbrook Farm isn’t just working their own land—they’re helping others do the same. Through their custom no-till planting, custom cover crop seeding, and custom manure hauling services, the Udermanns are sharing their regenerative expertise with neighboring farms and landowners. These services are built on precision, care, and decades of experience—and they’re backed by real data, including crop yield performance, soil health reports, and nutrient tracking.

Whether it’s helping a conventional grower begin a transition to no-till, designing a custom cover crop mix for a new field, or responsibly hauling and applying manure to maximize its benefit while protecting water quality, Meadowbrook Farm offers a full-service approach rooted in environmental excellence.

Manure and Nutrient Management with Purpose

One of Meadowbrook’s cornerstones is its innovative manure management program. Rather than treating manure as waste, the farm sees it as a critical input for rebuilding soil fertility. Through careful timing, calibrated rates, and GPS-precision application, they return nutrients to the soil in a way that minimizes runoff, supports microbial life, and closes the nutrient loop. Their system enables them to apply manure without needing supplemental commercial fertilizers—proving that, when managed well, nature provides all the nutrients crops need.

Mentorship and Leadership in Agriculture

The Udermann family is deeply committed to mentorship and community education. Whether they’re working with young farmers, sharing best practices with neighbors, or presenting at conservation and ag conferences, Meadowbrook Farm is actively engaged in helping others learn about soil health, regenerative methods, and conservation planning. The Udermann family has been a part of over 40 events educating about regenerative farming. They are not just farmers—they are leaders shaping the future of agriculture in Minnesota and beyond.

A Farm for the Future

What sets Meadowbrook Farm apart isn’t just its practices—it’s its vision. Every acre is treated as a living system, every animal is managed with care, and every decision is made with the next generation in mind. Whether you’re a landowner looking to rent your ground to responsible stewards, a farmer seeking to improve your own practices, a hunter interested in wildlife-rich lands, or a consumer who cares about where your food comes from—Meadowbrook Farm stands as a trusted, transparent partner in growing something better.
